Health and Social Care
The voluntary sector makes a significant contribution to health and social care services, complementing statutory services by bridging gaps in services and supporting seamless service provision.
It is recognised by the Welsh Assembly Government as a key partner in delivering its health and well being policy, which is reflected in the vision for the new NHS Wales where local people are central.
‘Building Strong Bridges’ is a report about strengthening partnership working between the Voluntary Sector and the NHS in Wales.
Central to the implementation of the recommendations in this document is the appointment of Health and Social Care Facilitators in each County Voluntary Council across Wales.
