Cash4Youth panel 2017-18

The Conwy Cash4Youth panel have had a very busy few months……

• They’ve discussed local issues such as Modern-Day Slavery, how young people could benefit from learning more about it and what to look out for
• What Independent Professional Advocacy is and completed a consultation on the National standards and outcomes framework for children and young people in wales
• Volunteered at the CVSC Celebratory Event and received a certificate for Volunteers Week to recognise all their hard work
• They’ve taken part in training from the Welsh Assembly on the roles of the Assembly, the new Youth Parliament for Wales and how the powers in Wales are changing
• Put together promotional materials and run a Cash4Youth Grant drop-in session at CVSC to gather more interest in the grant
• They’ve learnt about what make a good/bad grant application and then they’ve read through 13 grant applications to distribute £3200 worth of funding to 6 groups across Conwy to support growth of Youth Volunteering.
• Discussed fundraising and how they can help local organisations
• Looked at CV and Interview skills and what makes young people stand out to prospective employers

Here is a volunteering journey from one of our members – Teigan’s volunteering journey
