Volunteer Opportunity of the Month
Volunteers are needed to assist in welcoming people back to Snowdonia.
As the coronavirus restrictions are easing, we are recruiting volunteers to assist us in welcoming people back to Snowdonia. Your role will be pivotal in minimising the impact that tourism could have in the National Park over the coming weeks and months.
Role: National Park Welcome Back Volunteer
Supervisor: Area Warden
Main tasks: Advising the public, monitoring car parks, litter picking
More information: We are looking for friendly and enthusiastic people with a positive attitude to become part of our team. Volunteers are needed to assist in welcoming people back to Snowdonia. These volunteers will play an essential role in looking after the public and the National Park over the coming weeks and months by ensuring that key messages are communicated at busy sites.
Volunteers are required for shift style volunteering, starting on Friday 10th July. There is a morning shift and an afternoon shift. Or you can offer a full day. We will be asking people to note their availability, but you do not have to commit to sessions every week.
A full induction will be delivered using online resources, followed by a daily briefing onsite from Snowdonia National Park Wardens. PPE such as high-vis waistcoats, hand sanitiser, masks and gloves will be provided to all volunteers and, in line with government guidelines social distancing will be required at all times.
In line with current government guidelines we ask anyone considered to be “clinically extremely vulnerable” (high risk), or living with someone who has been advised to shield by the NHS, not to volunteer. We will continue to review government guidelines and look forward to welcoming these volunteers back at some point in the future.
