CPD Gronant were awarded £25,000 towards pitchside alterations and as well as shelters, fencing, storage and pitch maintenance equipment.

The club moved a few years ago to play at the Gronant Football pitches due to its availability, as pitches are difficult to find in North Wales. The location is great, near to the junior school and local housing population and the club were keen to expand on their impact in this area as the local youth club and community buildings have closed.

They wanted to provide an outlet for the young people and adults within the area through the football club and have already begun a youth team and want to expand on this over the next few years with different age groups.

To overcome this, they agreed a ‘Community Asset Transfer’ with the County Council and will look after the ground themselves.

The grant was used for the following:

  1. To extend the pitch length by several meters
  2. To widen the pitch by several meters
  3. To build new dugouts
  4. To purchase a storage container
  5. To purchase pitch maintenance equipment
