Mochdre Sports Association
Mochdre Sports Association were awarded £8,000 towards batteries for their new solar panel installation in spring 2024.
The total costs were £18,432.
After 302 days of operation, their savings for CO2 was 9.16t
In comparing their electricity bills from the end of August 2024, when the solar panels were installed, to the end of May 2025, a period of 9 months, they have saved £1,782. This means that the saving per annum will be around £2,350.
For the Sports Club the annual saving makes a huge contribution towards the running costs of the Club, representing around a 7.50% saving on the overall running costs.
The saving has given the Committee the confidence to invest in improvements to the Club which has resulted in a substantial refurbishment of the bar and lounge area since the panels were installed, thus improving facilities for members and for visiting teams/guests.
This also makes the Club more attractive to potential members and will hopefully mean more people playing sport at the Club.
