Last year, Festival Church Towyn received Gwynt y Mor funding as part of their phased development to upgrade the church for the community. The funding enabled the refurbishment of their kitchen.

This was the core funding that has been the key springboard to make the project possible, so it has been pivotal from that point of view.

The new kitchen has also enabled a number of our community groups to restart in the building, especially our weekly luncheon club (used to be called ‘Soups’ but now relaunched as ‘Oasis’) that provides freshly prepared lunches and a place for people to come together and socialise.

This has had a real impact on supporting those in the community who are lonely and or isolated.

Since phase 1 of the project has been completed (the next planned phase will be new toilets and disabled access) it has enabled an increase in the use of our facilities for a number of community groups.

This has also led to a valuable and tangible increase in hope in being able to see various groups being able to use the facilities and to boosting the vision for seeing us step into the next phases of the project and see more people reached and impacted in the community.
