DangerPoint received a Gwynt y Môr grant of £162,000 to deliver a schools and community safety education programme over a period of five years.

This Coastal Safety Project provides interactive tours at a uniquely created centre within the Gwynt y Môr Area of Benefit. During the project period the scheme educated over 9,500 visitors, providing an inclusive and interactive life skills experience that immersed them in real life situations in a fun and creative way.

They provided visitors with an opportunity to develop skills that support them to make positive choices and manage ‘danger’ scenarios with confidence in the future.

The project’s aim was to support visitors to develop their resilience towards a range of issues including safety, equality, diversity & inclusion, sustainable living, and wellbeing, so that they are  prepared for the challenges and obstacles they may face in the future, helping building strong and sustainable communities.

"We are so grateful for the support that we have received from the Gwynt y Môr project.

This funding allows us to support our community in accessing our provision in a way in which is accessible for all.

Gwynt y Môr are so supportive of us as a Charity and what we deliver, and we are so thankful that we continue to build on our relationship."

Deputy Manager, Cat Harvey-Aldcroft

Quotes from beneficiaries -

"The funding enabled our children to go on their first school trip in 2 years. It is still a very difficult time for many parents, so easing the financial burden of a school trip has helped immensely. Additionally, the skills the children have been taught today are life skills and after such a long time away from society, this has come at the perfect time. Thank you”
