Keeping local services open

“I’m Betty and I’m one of over 130 members at the Trinity Centre in Llandudno and we’re all over 50. Some people have dementia or have suffered strokes or have no family or help at home. We play games, have a natter and share a lot of laughs. All whilst being looked after and provided with delicious meals, which is a real treat!

Funding cuts had meant we risked losing the Centre, so the £9,999 funding from Gwynt y Môr Community Fund couldn’t have come at a better time. Thanks to the funding they’ve been able to continue to pay the staff, who are worth their weight in gold. They’ve even been able to hire a secretary and a new cook, it makes me so happy to see the centre thriving.

We’ve formed a really tight knit community, I couldn’t have done without the centre when my husband passed away, I’ve made so many friends here, it’s been a real lifeline.”
