Cylch Meithrin Ruthin
Art Showcase, New Income, and Welsh Language Boost! 🎨
We are delighted to have supported Cylch Meithrin Ruthin (Ruthin Nursery Group) with a grant of £7,216.34 from the Clocaenog Forest Wind Farm Fund to run their 'Outdoor Art Workshops' project. The project was a massive success!
Firstly, the workshops created a vital new income stream for the Cylch over the summer holidays. This helps them pay rent all year round, even though they usually only offer childcare during term time.
Secondly, the project had a great positive impact on the Welsh language. The art workshops were held entirely through the medium of Welsh. Even non-Welsh speaking parents wanted their children to attend as an opportunity to use their Welsh during school holidays.
Thirdly, they managed to recruit three new volunteers – more than expected, and the highest level in three years! According to the Cylch, this was an "incredible" project that helped raise their profile in the community. The permanent murals now transform the building and are a talking point for many!
