Serving a population of around 850 residents, Trelawnyd Memorial Hall is run by a dedicated association led by volunteers, supported by one part-time carer. Before receiving the funding from the Gwynt y Môr Community Fund, the hall needed renovations to protect the building from water and weather damage, along with improvements to the interior.

The funding contributed to essential improvements, including repairing the roof, installing new gutters and felt, refurbishing and painting the windows, installing internal secondary glazing, and install fireproof curtains.

The hall closed while these improvements were being carried out. Since reopening, the groups that were already using the hall have returned to their activities. The choir and indoor bowling club now hold weekly meetings. Trelawnyd Community Association has also resumed its coffee mornings and Warm Center sessions for the local community. New groups have also started to use the space, including a drama group with over 20 members. The association also plans to start chair yoga sessions for the community.

Since the improvements to the hall, the number of private hires has increased: 7 private events have been held since reopening. These private hires will generate income for the Community Association and help make the hall more sustainable in the future.

Phase 1 of the refurbishment is now complete, and the group is aiming to secure further funding to pay for further improvements. A representative from Trelawnyd Community Association said: "The appearance of the hall has changed for the better, which has given a positive boost to users and volunteers. This listed building is central to the history and culture of this small village and its new look is an achievement for a small community. This would have been impossible without the support of Gwynt y Môr, which also enabled us to attract other funders. Raising over £60,000 would be a daunting task without your help."
