An significant investment of £10,000 from the Gwynt y Môr Community Fund and £10,000 from the Rhyl Flats Community Fund has backed the design and construction of the largest tarmac pump track in Wales. 

Led by Abergele Wheelers CIC, this project aims to get more people moving and enjoying the outdoors.

The pump track, which is located in Pentre Mawr Park in Abergele, has an impressive 378 metres of combined riding space. The track has three main features, comprising; a 210 metre main track, a 70 metre beginner track, and a 74 metre advanced jump line.

The track is designed for beginners and keen riders alike, and can be used with all kinds of equipment, including bikes, scooters and skateboards. The layout has been carefully designed with all ages and abilities in mind.

Aled Roberts, Senior Grants Officer at CVSC working with the Gwynt y Môr and Rhyl Flats Funds, worked with Abergele Wheelers CIC to develop the project. He attended the official opening ceremony of the pump track, and commented:

“This is both an exciting project and asset for the whole community, and one that that provides free access for people to have fun and enjoy partaking, or to simply watch others show off their skills and places Abergele firmly on the map”.
