In September 2022, Colwyn Gateway Club were awarded £1000.00 by the Gwynt y Môr Offshore Windfarm Community Fund to attend the ‘Viva! Blackpool’ show in Blackpool whilst on their annual trip. The main aim of the trip is to be a holiday for the members and support staff, whilst providing respite for the parents and carers of the members.

The trip was a great success! 60 people attended the trip, including volunteers, members, and support staff. Support staff noticed that members who are usually more reserved and shy during regular meetings engaged more with the other members and came out of their shell on the trip.

A parent of one of the members who attended the trip with his son said that it was one of the best weeks of his life, and to see the support and encouragement his son has been given is fantastic!
