Just Go For It CIC

Inspiring young people and parents about science, technology, engineering and maths

£6,552 from Gwynt y Môr Community Fund supported a project in Flintshire schools, delivered by Just Go For It CIC, which has helped develop a ‘can do’ attitude for learners of all ages. It has improved STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) skills for 250 pupils and helped to inspire them about the future and STEM opportunities in the world of work.

Five small primary schools in North Flintshire saw parents acquiring STEM  skills and their children see that learning science, technology, engineering and maths was useful and fun. Children launched rockets and made electric circuits, they made a model wind farm and learnt about ratios. Parents enjoyed the social cohesion of a cooking club with its inherent STEM content.

“A really enjoyable session, all pupils were enthusiastic during each activity, and were thoroughly engaged in all parts of the workshop.  As well as this, pupils have gained a greater understanding of how engineering connects to the real world.  A great workshop, thank you very much!  Diolch!”

“Fantastic knowledge that will really excite children and encourage them to want to learn more.  Resources where brilliant! Something we wouldn’t have opportunity to do in school.”
